She lives on a hobby farm that consists of three horses, a pig, ducks, chickens, cats and many dogs. For fun she likes to go for nature walks, playing tennis, travel and enjoys family time. I am an alumnus of Southeastern College’s Professional Clinical Massage Therapy Program and truly believe it is the best in South Carolina.
Teaching structural anatomy and clinical massage techniques has been my passion here at Southeastern College for 17 + years.
Aside from teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children, as well as, working with horses and rehabbing orphaned wildlife.
After graduating College in 2008 and from Graduate school in 2012, I began working for the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce. While in this role, I worked in several departments and held varying roles that assisted me in developing my managerial, strategic planning, curriculum development, and program coordination skills. In 2014, I decided to go back to school and receive a certificate in something that was a lifelong dream – Cosmetology. When I first obtained my certificate, it was only intended to be used for a “part-time” career. It was not until I completed the program, that I realized and understood that my passion for the industry was far greater than I had ever imagined. I left my 13-year career with the state and opened my own salon, Transformations Hair Studio located here in Columbia, SC. I have never once held a regret taking the opportunity to follow my dreams full throttle. When I obtained the opportunity to lead the Cosmetology Department, I was ecstatic as it allows me to put all my former practices into place. Also, my journey truly became a full circle as I began college as an Elementary Education major and still became fully vested into education. I am also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
